Office plant rental in Pune starts at ₹100 per plant per month, and a typical 40-desk floor costs ₹3,000 to ₹7,500 all in. That covers delivery, planters, placement, weekly maintenance and free replacement of anything that declines. There is no upfront purchase and no lock-in.

This page is written for whoever actually signs off the spend: facility managers, admin heads, office managers and HR teams. If you are furnishing a home instead, our general plants on rent page is the better starting point.

How Many Plants Does Your Office Actually Need?

Most vendors answer this with whatever fills the floor. We plan indoor plants for office floors zone by zone instead, because the light varies more inside a Pune building than most people expect.

As a working rule we place one plant per three to four desks in open-plan areas, then treat the shared spaces separately. A 40-desk floor usually lands between 25 and 40 plants once reception and meeting rooms are included.

ZoneTypical countWhat works there
Reception and lobby3 to 8 statement piecesAreca palm, large rubber plant, fiddle leaf fig
Open-plan workstations1 per 3 to 4 desksSnake plant, ZZ plant, pothos on cabinet tops
Meeting rooms1 to 2 per roomZZ plant, snake plant, low-light tolerant only
Corridors and circulation1 every 6 to 8 metresPeace lily, dracaena, philodendron
Cafeteria and breakout4 to 10Trailing pothos, herb planters, hanging baskets
Dark internal cornersNothing, or nothing livingBe honest about it rather than replacing quarterly

That last row matters more than the others. A plant two metres from any window in a room lit only by ceiling LEDs is on a slow decline from day one, and a vendor who places one there is planning to charge you for its replacement.

Renting Beats Putting It on Someone’s Job Description

The alternative to renting is rarely buying. It is buying, and then quietly adding “water the plants” to the housekeeping brief.

That fails for a predictable reason. Watering is the easy part; light assessment, pest identification, repotting and feeding are not, and nobody on a housekeeping contract was hired for them. The plants survive about a season and then get replaced at your cost.

The honest alternative, employing someone competent, does not survive the maths. Maharashtra’s minimum wage for Zone I, which includes Pune, sits at roughly ₹13,921 a month for unskilled work and ₹15,532 for skilled work as of 1 January 2026, before statutory contributions. One person, at the legal floor, costs more than renting and maintaining 50 plants.

Rent, fully maintained₹3,000 to ₹7,500Us

Renting is not the cheap option because the plants are cheap. It is cheaper because plant mortality moves onto our side of the contract, which changes what we plant in the first place.

What Our Office Plant Rental Contract Covers

Procurement questions come up in the same order every time, so here are the answers before you ask.

  • Rolling monthly, 30 days notice either way. No annual lock-in. If the service slips, a contract should not be what keeps you.
  • Unlimited replacements. Any plant that declines gets swapped at no charge, however often.
  • Weekly maintenance visits, scheduled around your working hours. Watering, feeding, pruning, leaf cleaning, pest checks and rotation.
  • Planters included in the base rate. Custom designer planters are available and quoted separately.
  • GST invoicing, one consolidated invoice across floors and sites.
  • One point of contact, not a call centre.

We also run a free trial on request: a small placement for a week so you can see the service before committing anything.

Office Plants for Hire, or an Annual Maintenance Contract?

Plenty of Pune vendors package plant care as an AMC, an annual maintenance contract billed quarterly or a year upfront. It is worth knowing which of the two you are being quoted, because the numbers are not comparable.

An AMC covers the upkeep of plants you already own. You buy the stock, the vendor keeps it alive, and every plant that dies is still your replacement cost. Office plants for hire include the plants themselves. You never buy them, and mortality sits on our side of the contract.

This is why an AMC rate can look cheaper line for line. It excludes the single largest cost in the arrangement.

  • You already own a floor of healthy plants: an AMC is often genuinely cheaper, and we quote for that under corporate gardening.
  • You are starting from nothing: hire almost always wins once the purchase and the first year of losses are counted.
  • You want neither a lock-in nor an upfront bill: that is what our rolling monthly arrangement is for.

Ask any vendor which of the two they are quoting before you compare the rates. A twelve month AMC and a rolling monthly rental are different products.

Why Office Plants Die in Pune, and Why That Is Our Problem

Pune offices kill plants in ways that are specific enough to design around.

Air conditioning is the main one. An office running AC nine or ten hours a day holds air far drier than the plant experienced at the nursery, and thin-leaved species lose moisture faster than roots replace it. This is why our office placements lean heavily on thick, waxy foliage rather than the calatheas and ferns that photograph well.

The March humidity crash compounds it. Pune sits near 88% relative humidity in August and often below 30% by March, so an office plant that looked settled through the monsoon can brown at the edges within weeks of the dry season starting. A watering schedule fixed in September is wrong by February.

Weekend and holiday shutdowns finish the job. AC off, blinds drawn, doors shut, and a plant that was marginal on Friday is worse by Monday. Diwali week and the year-end shutdown are when most office plants are lost.

Because replacements are on us, these are our costs rather than yours. That is the practical reason a rented plant tends to outlive a bought one: we have a financial stake in choosing something that can survive your third floor in March.

Corporate Plant Rental Across Multiple Floors and Sites

Companies with more than one Pune office usually have more than one plant vendor, often inherited from whoever fitted out each building.

Our plant rental services run on weekly rounds across Hinjewadi, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Baner, Hadapsar and Wakad, so a company with sites in two or three of those goes onto one schedule with one invoice. Service reports come per site, so facilities can still see what happened where.

For campuses that also have outdoor grounds, indoor plant rental usually sits alongside corporate gardening rather than separately, and our corporate green solutions page covers the combined arrangement.

What the Evidence Supports, and What It Does Not

Worth being direct, because this industry oversells.

Productivity has real support. A 2014 study published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied ran three field experiments in working commercial offices and measured roughly a 15% improvement in productivity in planted offices against bare ones. Real workplaces, measured over months, not a lab.

Air purification does not. A Drexel University review in 2019 went back through 196 published experiments and concluded you would need somewhere between 10 and 1,000 plants per square metre to match the air exchange your building ventilation already delivers. The famous NASA-era figures come from sealed chambers and do not scale to a floor with a working HVAC system.

If a vendor’s proposal leans on air purification, it tells you something about the rest of the proposal. Plants are worth having because people prefer working among them, and that is enough.

Our Corporate Clients

We currently serve offices across Pune’s IT corridors, Hinjewadi, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Baner, Aundh and Wakad, along with co-working spaces, clinics, restaurants and hotel lobbies. Placements run from a handful of plants in a startup reception to 200 across a corporate campus.

For a line-by-line breakdown of what a placement costs and how to compare two proposals that look nothing alike, see our guide to office plant rental cost in Pune. If the question is whether to rent at all rather than buy, our rent versus buy comparison works through the ownership numbers, and our guide to the best indoor plants for Pune offices covers species selection in detail.

An IT Office Transformation in Hinjewadi

An IT company in Hinjewadi Phase 2 approached us to green up their 8,000 sq ft office. The space had been open two years with zero plants: grey desks, white walls, fluorescent lighting. Their HR team had noticed it was affecting mood.

We placed 85 plants across the floor. Areca palms flanking reception, pothos cascading from shelf tops in the open-plan area, snake plants at every workstation cluster, and peace lilies along the corridor. The cafeteria got trailing plants and a small herb wall of mint and basil that the kitchen staff actually use.

Three months in, their internal employee satisfaction survey showed a noticeable improvement in workspace environment scores. They have since taken the count to 120 and extended to their second floor.

The monthly cost is about ₹12,000, less than their coffee machine maintenance contract.

Getting a Proposal

We walk the floor, note the light in each zone, ask how the AC and shutdowns actually run, and send a proposal within 48 hours. It comes itemised by zone so you can cut or extend a section without renegotiating the whole thing.

Book a free office walkthrough, or call +91-7038962515 and describe the space. If you want to rent plants for office use at a single reception desk rather than a whole floor, say so and we will quote our office plant service at that size instead of talking you into a package.

Frequently Asked Questions About Office Plant Rental in Pune

How much does office plant rental cost in Pune?
Office plant rental in Pune starts at ₹100 per plant per month for standard indoor plants, and ₹150 to ₹300 for premium specimens like large areca palms or fiddle leaf figs. A 40-desk office typically runs ₹3,000 to ₹7,500 a month all in. That figure covers delivery, planters, placement, weekly maintenance visits and replacement of any plant that declines, with no upfront purchase cost.
What happens if a plant dies?
We replace it, at no charge, as many times as needed. That is the core difference between renting and buying: when you own the plants, every casualty is your cost and your problem. When you rent, plant health is our commercial risk, which is why we choose species that survive your actual light and AC conditions rather than whatever looks best on delivery day.
Is there a lock-in contract?
No. We work on a rolling monthly basis with 30 days notice either way. Facility managers are usually being asked to commit to a year by other vendors, so this comes up in every first conversation. If the service is not working, a contract should not be the reason you stay.
How many plants does an office actually need?
As a planning rule we use roughly one plant per three to four desks in open-plan areas, plus dedicated pieces for reception, meeting rooms and corridors. A 40-desk floor usually lands between 25 and 40 plants. We would rather place fewer plants that thrive than fill the floor with specimens that will struggle in a dark corner.
Can you handle multiple floors or multiple sites?
Yes, and it is most of what we do. Offices across Hinjewadi, Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Baner and Hadapsar are on the same weekly service rounds, so a company with three sites in Pune gets one schedule, one point of contact and one consolidated invoice rather than three separate vendor relationships.
Do you offer an AMC for office plants?
We do, but check which one you actually need. An annual maintenance contract covers the upkeep of plants you already own, so every plant that dies stays your replacement cost. Renting includes the plants, and mortality is ours. If you already have a floor of healthy plants an AMC is often cheaper, and we quote for that under corporate gardening. If you are starting from nothing, hire almost always wins once the purchase price and the first year of losses are counted.
Do office plants purify the air?
Not meaningfully, and we would rather tell you that upfront than sell you something on a claim that does not hold. A Drexel University review of 196 published experiments found you would need between 10 and 1,000 plants per square metre to match the air exchange your building ventilation already provides. What plants do have real evidence behind is workplace experience: a 2014 study across three field experiments measured roughly a 15% improvement in productivity in offices with plants against bare ones.
